RETURN IN FULL FORCE
After a long time, Jára Jiřík returns to fighting on the race tracks. He last rode in the 2019 season as part of the Italian GT car championship. He continues to enjoy great form and therefore reappears in the carousel of top motorsport.
One week before the famous 24-hour race in Spa, a racing weekend of the British GT Championship was held on the local circuit. It also included the races of the European GT2 specification car series. It is a relatively fresh project that other manufacturers are also interested in. Now the drivers on the tracks are competing with the Audi R8 LMS GT2, Porsche 911 GT2 RS, KTM X-Bow GT2 and Lamborghini Huracán ST Evo GT2.
For Jára Jiřík, after a long break, it was two returns at once. He sat in the racing seat after about a year and a half and at the same time he again participates in the series of competitions of the SRO organization. He last sat in the seat of an Aston Martin DBRS9 car during the European GT3 car series in the 2010 season. This year, the special Lamborghini Huracán ST Evo GT2 of the Target Racing team will be saddled.
The qualification is divided into two parts for each rider separately. Jára Jiřík set a great sixth time, which guaranteed him a start to the first race from the third row.
Jára Jiřík started from the sixth position and relatively soon American Patterson with Audi started to reach him, whom he bravely bounced for a long time. About halfway through the race, Patterson overtook him. Soon a window for pit stops opened and at the same time a safety car hit the track due to the accident of M. Bleekemolen. This situation began to shuffle the cards, and dark gray lamborghini appeared in fifth place. In the end, the crew managed to defend the seventh position and get 12 points.
The final event of the calendar will take place on October 1-3 at the Paul Ricard Circuit. Meanwhile, Jára Jiřík will appear in the endurance race of the Italian GT Championship at the Piero Taruffi circuit in Vallelunga.
